Waterman’s Martial Arts offers classes, workshops and private instruction at the Sherrill CAC and in Hamilton.  Instruction focuses on developing self-discipline, confidence, and fitness.  Heath Waterman has over twenty years of experience predominantly in Shotokan Karate, but also in Capoeira, small circle Jujitsu and self-defense, and he continues to increase his knowledge.  All programs can be adapted for all age groups and individual abilities. Waterman Martial Arts Self-Defense Class, Saturday February 9, 9am-11am

The class will cover the 4 phases of self-defense, basic stance and movement, drills and more.  Class fee- $20. Heath Waterman began training in 1993 under Robert Pinney, the director of Colgate’s martial arts clubs and women’s defense seminars.  Waterman achieved his adult black belt in 1999 at 13.  He was one of the youngest to be certified by the Zen-Do Kai International organization.  He was Mr. Pinney’s chief assistant instructor from 2004 until opening WMA in January 2008.  Primarily a karate school with a heavy self-defense focus, the system is affiliated with, and accredited through, Michael Campos’ ZDK International.  Waterman has taught his self-defense system to E.M.Ts, multiple women’s groups, VVS senior classes, and developed a full annual program for grades 3-8 at Sauquoit Central.     Please email heath@wmacny.com to register.
