Basic STAR only renewal letters from the State are being received by property owners in Sherrill. The letter is addressed to the “Property Owner” and is not personalized with the individual owner’s name. Renewal can be accomplished via the website www.tax.ny.gov or by phone (518) 457-2036 Monday-Friday 8:30am-8pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.

Enhanced STAR- For those individuals that will be turning 65 in 2014 and do not have Enhanced STAR, for Enhanced STAR purposes you are considered 65 as of January 1, 2014 regardless of when your actual birthday is. In order to receive this exemption and assuming you meet the income limits your application MUST be processed prior to March 1, 2014. Bob Comis, Assessor for the City of Sherrill, has established the following dates and times to process exemptions by the March 1st deadline: January 30, 31 and February 5, 6, 13, 14, 20, 21, 26, 27, & 28 from 9am-12pm; There are times this schedule may change. Changes, if needed will be posted here. Bob Comis is also at Sherrill City Hall Monday-Friday and would be available by appointment if that is more convenient.
